In order to be subject to the obligations of packaging manufacturers, the entrepreneur only needs to pack his goods in any kind of packaging – boxes for carrying food, movable items, bags, microtene bags.

From the entrepreneur’s point of view, paradoxically, you also become a packaging producer when importing packaged goods from abroad or placing products made of plastic, paper and cardboard or glass on the market in the Slovak Republic. The Waste Act also imposes other obligations on such entities under the Waste Act. For producers of packaging and non-packaging products, there is also an obligation to register separately in the relevant public registers of the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic.
